Lemonade Recipe

lemons Here is an easy, basic lemonade recipe that cannot be beat!  It is a great drink to make this Memorial Day for your picnics, grilling and Bar-B-Q's.  Just great for any summer day!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 3/4 cups white sugar
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups lemon juice

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water.  Bring to boil and stir to dissolve sugar.  Allow to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until chilled.
  2. Use a juicer or microwave the lemons for a few seconds to soften them up and cut in half and squeeze with cut side up (so seeds won't get into cup).  Be sure to leave the pulp but remove any seeds that may be in it.
  3. In pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice and remaining 7 cups of water.

I hope you enjoy this great lemonade recipe and if you have a great summer drink recipe share it with us.  Hope to hear from you!  Enjoy your Memorial Day!
