I will be the first to admit that Saturday Night Live has been disappointing, at best, over the last several years.  Great actors - but bad writing, in my honest opinion.

However, I am hoping this season things turn around.  It definitely is getting off to a great start with eight time US Olympic gold medal winner, Michael Phelps hosting.

I also think SNL will have a lot of political fodder to work with... rumor has it that Tina Fey (my favorite) will be doing Sarah Palin.  I hope this is true because Fey physically looks so much like Palin, and I have no doubt that she (Fey) will do a dead-on impersonation of Palin.  Come on Tina Fey please be on tomorrow night and play Sarah Palin.

And Amy Poehler as Cindy McCain, another dead-on physical look-a-like!  Barack Obama is also slated to make an appearance, as himself I'm sure, and SNL hopes to lure back Maya Rudolph to play Michelle Obama, according to TVGuide.com.

So Saturday night I will do my best to stay up (at least for the opening- then record it) to watch SNL on NBC at 11:30 p.m. EST.  If you watch SNL leave a comment and let us know what you thought.  Hope to hear from you!
