30 Days About Me Day 19: Me Talented?

30 Days About Me Toni from A Daily Dose of Toni, is hosting this 30 Days About Me meme. Today's prompt is "A talent or hobby of yours." I'm not sure if I'm really talented or not, but I enjoy home decorating. I think in another life, I would be an interior designer. At one point, I would say this was more of a hobby. I was redoing rooms in my house on a regular basis. Nothing extreme. Just changing paint color and accessories.

I've always kept things pretty neutral, so I can play with color whenever the mood strikes me. Which, by the way, doesn't happen nearly as much as it used to.  Too busy, nowadays.

One of my favorite projects I've undertaken was my bedroom. It's been awhile since I did it, and it has changed slightly over the last few years, but the walls have stayed the same. And probably will for some time. I did a colorwash/faux finish stripes on them. It took over a week, and lots of blood (really, I cut myself), sweat, and tears went into it. So I'm living with these walls. Luckily, I still love them.

Here's a few pictures of the room right after I finished it:

I also did some faux finishes on some of the furniture in our room. I enjoyed it. Still not sure if I'd call it a talent. But when I asked my hubby what he thought I was talented at, this is one of the things he thought of. And since, it kind of qualified as a hobby... I decided to go with it. Maybe some day soon, I'll do a how-to post on doing faux finish stripes.
