Barilla Whole Grain Taste & Share Review & AWEsome G!veaway

I recently received a Barilla Whole Grain Taste & Share Challenge Kit to review. I want to tell y'all that this is one of the best packages I've received to-date since starting my blog. I love Barilla pasta and for over six years now, the only pasta I prepare in my home is whole wheat. Barilla is a brand I've used and trusted for a long time.

When I opened up my package and starting pulling all the goodies out, I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. Honestly, I was excited. :) I'll get to all the great things in the package in a moment.

Barilla Whole Grain has created the Whole Grain Taste & Challenge to encourage sharing Barilla's Whole Grain pasta with your family. Whole grain is healthier for us, and Barilla Whole Grain has three times the fiber of regualr pasta. And by adding whole grain pasta you can make any past meal more nutritious. My almost nine-year-old son has never eaten regular pasta in our home. He loves whole wheat pasta, and would prefer it over regular.

I did the Taste & Share Challenge and shared with two of my FaceBook friends who received $1 coupon on a Barilla Whole Grain Pasta, plus I got a coupon myself. Go to TryBarillaWholeGrain.com  to take the Taste & Share Challenge yourself.

On Saturday, I made the Thin Spaghetti with Cherry Tomatoes & Fresh Sweet Peppers and my husband raved about it. It was quick, easy, and healthy. It was aromatic, light, yet a filling pasta dish, that I would highly recommend you try. I plan on making more Barilla Whole Grain pasta recipes to share with you over the next couple of weeks.

You can check out Barilla Dinner Kit for more pasta recipes. And follow Barilla on Facebook.

Now for some really great news -- Barilla and Mom Central are going to giveaway the same Barilla Whole Grain Taste & Share Challenge Kit to not one, not two... but three of my readers! Here's what you'll get:

  • Six boxes of Barilla Whole Grain pasta (Whole Grain Thin Spaghetti, Whole Grain Spaghetti, Whole Grain Medium Shells, Whole Grain Penne, Whole Grain Rotini, and Whole Grain Linguine)
  • Academia Barilla olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Pesto
  • Sicilian cherry tomatoes
  • Sea salt with black olives, and
  • A Barilla apron

This is a fantastic giveaway! To enter use the Rafflecopter form below:

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Barilla and received a Taste & Share Challenge Kit to facilitate my review, kits to giveaway, and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

My daughter can be a picky eater at times, but telling her she has to stay at the table until she eats it usually works. I remind her that it won't taste good if it gets cold. (I only do this with things I know she likes, but doesn't want to eat because she wants to play.) When it comes to trying new foods, sometimes she thinks they look or sound yucky (or pretends to, lol), so I tell her they taste like something she likes - then she'll at least try it. Even if it doesn't taste like whatever I said, she usually laughs and says No it doesn't, it taste like... And then whatever she thinks. But she's learned she likes a lot of different foods this waySmile

Being Italian, I grew up on Barilla Pasta. When I started my diet, one of the things I was unwilling to let go of was my pasta, so we tried Barilla Whole Grain! OMG you can barely taste the difference! It's delicious! One of the house's favorite dishes is when I make the Penne with tuna. It's the only way I will eat Tuna! I saute onions and garlic with a little EVOO add a few fresh tomatoes, add the tuna, top it with about 2 cups of water, let it get to a boil, add some fresh basil, let it reduce, toss with the Penne! You'll never hear your kids complain about tuna ever again! Thank you for hosting this giveaway!

OH yummy! I hope I win!
My favorite healthy recipe uses whole grain pasta, fresh spinach, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt & pepper, and diced cook chicken, all tossed together. We love to use whole grain pastas in place of "regular" ones in all pasta dishes! Smile YUM!
