2012 Guide to Child Tax Benefits (Infographic)

Monday, 2 January 2012
Pin It

Now that a new year is here, it's time to start thinking about, preparing and gathering paperwork for our taxes. As much as I dread it... it must be done. At least there's some good news, the  Child Tax Credit was extended until 2012 and you may be able to reduce your federal income tax by up to $1,000 for each qualifying child. Check out this infographic to see if you qualify for this and other tax deductions and credits.

I love this infographic! I used to work in HR and payroll so I knew a lot about these things, but you'd be surprised how many people have no idea what they can and can not claim!

Very interesting. When I did our taxes last year it took me a while to figure out why we were paying more, then I realized my daughter had aged out of the tax credit.

We had the adoption credit two years in a row, before we used it all. THAT was nice!
